Access all areas

october 2021

Following successful pilot schemes held last spring, we have over 30 leading employers who will be offering UK-wide work experience placements for young people with SEND/ASN/ALN as part of our Access All Areas campaign throughout the month of October.

Placements for Access All Areas have been specially structured to meet the requirements of young people with SEND/ASN/ASL. Some placements will consist of one session while other placements will involve several sessions over the course of a few weeks.

The application process for all placements for our Access All Areas campaign requires a teacher to lead the application process.

For more information on Virtual Work Experience and Insight Days for SEND/ASN/ASL students and the application process, please email

HOW OUR PLACEMENTS WORK

Our programme of events will run throughout October and in some cases into November. The programme will consist of Virtual Work Experience (VWEX) placements and Virtual Insight Days with employers from across sectors aimed at encouraging more young people with additional needs or disabilities to experience the world of work for themselves.

These placements are run through a simple, safe-guarded portal, giving students access to opportunities, schools an easy way to manage their work experience and employers the chance to diversify their early talent pipelines and meet their social mobility goals.

IMPACT OF VIRTUAL WORK EXPERIENCE

99% of young people felt better informed about the world of work and their future options following their placement.*

100% of young people said their VWEX placement or Virtual Insight Day was valuable*
