Inspiring young people with additional needs or disabilities to expect more from the world of work
Running throughout October 2021, we will be hosting a series of Broadcasts and school VTalks with eminent leaders from a range of different industries who either have additional needs or disabilities themselves or are leading the charge for improved inclusion for people with additional needs or disabilities in the workplace. Speakers taking part include:
Jessica Taylor-Bearman (Author, Artist, Blogger)
Robert Wainwright (CEO, WWA Consultants & Former Chair, POhWER)
Paul Maynard (MP, Blackpool North and Cleveleys)
For your reference, Broadcasts are talks that can be accessed by any young person. They typically last 1 hour and will be available online via our website. They will also be available as recordings in our Broadcast Library once they have aired.
VTalks are virtual talks that are only available to a nominated school. They are not recorded or available to the general public. Schools wishing to host a VTalk can submit a booking request and they will be matched to a speaker who will address their school a pre-arranged time and date. VTalks use a video calling platform and typically last between 40-60 minutes. They can take many formats, but the most popular formats are either an interview format or Q and A session.
ACCESSING A BROADCAST
Broadcasts take place during the school day and outside of the school day (timings of Broadcasts changed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure we are best able to support young people). Young people will not be required to download apps or software to access events. There will be no login to access broadcasts.
It is not required for students, parents, or schools/colleges to sign-up to attend Broadcasts. Information and access information about upcoming talks will be added to this page ahead of the events and sent to the Speakers for Schools’ network via email. We will also be sharing news of upcoming speakers and talks on our social media.
